To those who have respect to “the glory that was Greece”, who appreciate that which is of highest historic and artistic value, this travel series will appeal irresistibly. Interwoven with the Greece of to-day are ever recurring glimpses of that glorious past of artistic and intellectual supremacy which has made Greece the instructor of all the world for ages. Classic Athens, though despoiled of many of her choicest treasures of sculpture and art, yet rears her immortal Acropolis altar crowned with the ruined splendor of her most glorious examples of architecture and sculpture, and throughout the city the enduring triumph of Greek art is everywhere manifest.
